Latest Fashion Trends 2011 | Street Fashion – Boho-chic look and fancy Handbags!

Since past many years Celebrity fashion has been the core of Fashion Industry, right from what they wear to what they eat… Everything becomes a craze for the youth who follows it meticulously. Be It Britney or Lady Gaga.. COPY THEM is the hype for the people who want to stay Stylish..Is that fashion is all about? Lets find out…

Yesterday I was traveling in the most famous Mumbai Local (for those who didnt catch that, mumbai local is the local train plying across the vast city of Mumbai with tons and tons of common public commuting from one corner of the city to other..if you actually see them packed together in the peak hours of local you wont be able to make out one person from other… it is such a scenario) Well Mumbaikars are born to adapt that though… Coming to the point, I could make out various style statements (Individual Style Icons) of these Common Gals who could be hardly called Common. And Mind It, none of it seemed copied or similar.. Each one had her own sense of Style and carried it Elegantly with great confidence.. This made me rethink my earlier statement.. Fashion is not just a Celebrity Fashion.. Fashion is what inside us,, each one of us has his/her own creativity to look their best…NOT Forgetting that “ITS NOT TRENDS THAT MAKES US, ITS WE WHO MAKE TRENDS”… And I decided to put up their Style Statements on my Blog…So here we GO!

Fashion Restyle – Recycle and Re-use.

Restyling has become the latest trend in fashion Industry. After a span of some time One gets bored with thier clothes and seek a variety in thier wardrobe…  And with this bright summer on the verge I am sure you all are in need of a refreshing change in your outlook yet with the minimum waste of time and money… The best way to get the change you need is to get Re-styled!!!!

Giving a new touch to your existing clothes is just few moments task.. All you need is to p0ur out your creativity into your outfit.

A weary old tshirt can be re-fashioned to give a funky look, by adding something new to it..

Here a lighter shaded old tshirt is used to make these ruffles for the t-shirt to give it a new look, one can use a mix of colour here and make a bold statement by teaming black and red/orange.. and create a new zing..

One can put a bow, a belt a lace on such plain t-shirts and make them look fresh.. You can also cut it up fro the top to make it off-shoulder and then attach an elastic to it so that i stays in place giving you a bolder look.

Same way you can restyle your shirt by adding big metal buttons or a satin flower to it. you can cut up the sleeves if you want to make it look completely different…

You could team it up with bold colours like coral red and peapod green .. Also You can wear it over a summer dress to give a bolder touch to a delicate outfit…

Other alternatives are removing the collars and using it as a denim shrug.. Cutting up the borders into a round shape or other geometrical shape rather than a flat one would also spice up your jacket….black-dress-restyle-funky

There are many such ways to turn your plain simple clothes into funky outfits…Teaming them up with chunky belts, jewelery, putting chains and buttons and zipper here and there… getting them embroidered…pasting some lace or satin flowers.. adding glitter and sparkle… spray painting your plain T-shirt with sexy tag lines… and what not..

There is a whole world of restyle out there waiting for you to just peep in and get yourself stylized…

Its just about being creative and open to challenges…

old-sweater-restyled-new-shrugThis old sweater is restyled into a new shrug by cutting of the trunk part of the sweater and putting up a big safety pin as a holder.. one can use a beautiful broach as well to add more glamour to it.. and can be teamed up with bold colour t-shirts.. One should keep in mind to use the proper colours.. If your worn out outfits are faded use bright colours with them to give them a new look..

cardigan-restyled-new lookThis old out dated cardigan is turned into a fresh one.. with a touch of glitter to it and few crafts on the material… It seems great and doesnt look very difficult to try it at home.. Simple stiches of a vibrant colour are taken and strips cut out from the middle button-up are used as loops.. rest of the material is used to make a cute flower to be added at the top.. This gives a real make-over to the dull cardigan…

This days the recycle fashion seems to rock India too.. One can wear one and the same clothes many times just by Restyling them a bit….. Mostly it happens that a saree taken long time back seems out dated due to the pattern of its blouse.. All you have to do is Restyle your blouse and that will give your saree a completely new look and you can wear it endlessly by teaming it up with different colours and pattern of the blouses.. by changing the way you drape your saree… and it will give your old saree a completely new look..

You can restyle the blouse by making the neck deep, making it backless, by cutting up an old full-sleeved blouse into an off shoulder or drooping shoulders pattern.. you can remove the plain elbow length sleaves and make puff-sleeves instead… or make them completely sleevles…Change the pattern of the neck by getting deeper and bolder cuts.. The Sweetheart cut gives a good makeover to an old semicircle shape…Here are some examples of Cuts that you can use…black blouse bold restyle

Restyle your old clothes – Save Environment and Save Money

Are you thinking of dumping your Old clothes which are no more in fashion now? Think again!!!!!!!!!! Refashioning may change the whole look of your old worn out dress, what more you can create a new wardrobe without spending money.

I have got dresses in my closet which I hardly wear because I feel they are either out of date or worn too much. Few of them I have just got bored of, but they are really so precious to me that I can’t even give them away. Lately I came across this whole new Idea of Restyle and Reuse which has helped me get out of my problems (my old clothes). With increasing awareness of Fashion and Trends, dumping of old clothes is becoming a big threat to Environment. Loads and loads of clothes are either given away or dumped into the Environment because of the mere reason of them being not in trend anymore. This has evolved the concept of remodelling or Refashioning.

Here are few tips on how can you bring life to your old clothes:

1) Change the length- Change the length of your old skirt by making it either short or long, as per your requirement. Put a new belt over it and it may look better. Check out this black skirt shortened into a mini look.  You can also cut your old denims into hot shorts. Just draw a frenzy uneven line and cut them short to give it a reckless funky and hot look.

2) Accessorize it- Change your daddy’s baggy t-shirt into a mini-dress by putting a funky belt at the waist. You can also cut the neck deep, make it off-shoulder by cutting the sleeve from one side or make a sleeveless dress altogether.  Putting broach and bows on old dress can also create a new zing in them.

3) Mix and Match- Use two different old clothes and fuse them into a new one. You can use your old jeans along with your old skirt and make a brand new fusion Skirt.

4) Change the Avatar – Completely change your dress by Change Avatar. Convert your shirt into a skirt. Change your mom’s Old sari into a New Dress. Completely change the Avatar of your dress.

I know you must be thinking this all is for Western Clothes What about your Indian dresses. You can use the same tricks for your Indian wear. Below is the example of the same. I have used one of my mom’s Old maroon saree, mixed it with an old material of brochette and converted it into an Anarkali dress.

Anarkali’s are completely IN these days. You can see Mona Singh and Madhuri Dixit flaunting great toe-touching Anarkali’s with antique work patches. You can also create your own Anarkali dress from those old sarees which have great and heavy work and mix them with your old plain georgette sarees to create a New Look.

So gals Go and get yourself Re-fashionable…….:)
